Local guide
Mumbai and its neighbours, from Thane and Navi Mumbai to Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar and Kalyan-Dombivli, make up one of India’s largest job markets. Many people here are salaried in finance, services, media and trade, and many rent their homes. Housing is among the most expensive in the country, so a personal loan in Mumbai often pays for a rental deposit and brokerage, a move closer to work, a medical bill or a family wedding.
Lenders look at where you live and where you work. If your Aadhaar still shows an address in another city, keep proof of your current home ready. In Maharashtra, leave and licence agreements have to be registered, and lenders prefer the registered copy; you can register one online through the state’s registration department. A recent electricity bill from BEST, Adani Electricity, Tata Power or MSEDCL, depending on your area, also helps.
Lenders decide PIN code by PIN code which areas they serve, so share yours to see who can lend to you.
Each lender serves its own areas. When you apply, we show you only the lenders that cover your PIN code.
How it works
No branch visit to apply with Firstfund. The lender does its own KYC: online with Aadhaar, by video call, at your doorstep or at a branch.
Tell us the amount, what it’s for and your Mumbai PIN code. It takes about 3 minutes.
When you apply, we show you the lenders that fit your area and profile.
The lender shares its offer and Key Fact Statement. You choose whether to go ahead.
Eligibility
Each lender sets its own criteria. Keep these handy; you won’t need to upload them on Firstfund.
Common uses
Good to know
The lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. It stays valid for at least three working days, and a fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.
For floating-rate personal loans sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, lenders can’t charge a fee to prepay. Most personal loans have a fixed rate, so check the prepayment terms in the KFS.
Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your own bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.
Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.
Questions
Usually not. RBI rules let banks and NBFCs complete KYC by video call, and many collect documents online or at your doorstep. Some lenders may still ask you to visit a branch.

Usually, if it is registered. Maharashtra requires leave and licence agreements to be registered, and lenders prefer the registered copy. A recent utility bill or a bank statement showing your current address helps too.
