Local guide
Chennai combines a large manufacturing base, with automobile and electronics plants along the Sriperumbudur, Oragadam and Ambattur belts, with IT parks along the Old Mahabalipuram Road and a long tradition of trade in George Town and T. Nagar.
Borrowers here are often salaried in IT, manufacturing and services, and many families plan ahead for weddings, education and health costs. If you rent, keep your rent agreement and a recent electricity bill from TNPDCL, the company that took over power distribution from TANGEDCO in 2024. Lenders also look at how long you have worked with your employer and at the salary credits in your bank statement.
Lenders decide PIN code by PIN code which areas they serve, so share yours to see who can lend to you.
Each lender serves its own areas. When you apply, we show you only the lenders that cover your PIN code.
How it works
No branch visit to apply with Firstfund. The lender does its own KYC: online with Aadhaar, by video call, at your doorstep or at a branch.
Tell us the amount, what it’s for and your Chennai PIN code. It takes about 3 minutes.
When you apply, we show you the lenders that fit your area and profile.
The lender shares its offer and Key Fact Statement. You choose whether to go ahead.
Eligibility
Each lender sets its own criteria. Keep these handy; you won’t need to upload them on Firstfund.
Common uses
Good to know
The lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. It stays valid for at least three working days, and a fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.
For floating-rate personal loans sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, lenders can’t charge a fee to prepay. Most personal loans have a fixed rate, so check the prepayment terms in the KFS.
Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your own bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.
Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.
