Personal loan in Kolkata
Share your details once. Our team will connect you with RBI-regulated banks and NBFCs that lend in Kolkata, and explain every cost before you choose.
At a glance
Final amount, rate and tenure depend on the lender and your profile.
Local guide
Kolkata’s borrowers include salaried people in government, banking, education and healthcare, professionals in the IT hubs of Salt Lake Sector V and New Town, and families tied to the city’s old trading districts such as Burrabazar.
Older homes need regular upkeep, so a personal loan here often pays for repairs and renovation, as well as weddings, medical treatment and education. If you rent, keep your rent agreement and a recent CESC electricity bill; areas outside CESC’s supply zone are served by WBSEDCL. Lenders look at your age at the end of the loan, so if you are close to retirement, a shorter tenure may suit you better.
Lenders decide PIN code by PIN code which areas they serve, so share yours to see who can lend to you.
Each lender serves its own areas. When you apply, we show you only the lenders that cover your PIN code.
How it works
No branch visit to apply with Firstfund. The lender does its own KYC: online with Aadhaar, by video call, at your doorstep or at a branch.
Tell us the amount, what it’s for and your Kolkata PIN code. It takes about 3 minutes.
When you apply, we show you the lenders that fit your area and profile.
The lender shares its offer and Key Fact Statement. You choose whether to go ahead.
Eligibility
Each lender sets its own criteria. Keep these handy; you won’t need to upload them on Firstfund.
Common uses
Good to know
The lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. It stays valid for at least three working days, and a fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.
For floating-rate personal loans sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, lenders can’t charge a fee to prepay. Most personal loans have a fixed rate, so check the prepayment terms in the KFS.
Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your own bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.
Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.
