Local guide

Doing business in Delhi.

Delhi’s business life runs through wholesale markets such as Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, Karol Bagh and Gandhi Nagar, and industrial areas at Okhla, Naraina, Mayapuri, Wazirpur, Bawana and Narela, with suppliers and buyers spread across the NCR.

Traders here often need finance for festive stock and for the credit they give to buyers; manufacturers need machinery and raw material. Because many Delhi firms buy and sell across state lines, lenders read GST returns closely, so keep your GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filings up to date. For rented premises, keep the rent agreement and your shop and establishment registration ready.

Lenders decide PIN code by PIN code which areas they serve, so a factory in Bawana may have different options from a shop in Karol Bagh. Share your business PIN code to see who can lend to you.

Good to know

Your rights as a business borrower.

  • A Key Fact Statement before you sign

For MSME term loans, the lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. A fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.

  • No prepayment fee on many floating-rate loans

For floating-rate business loans to individuals and micro and small enterprises, sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, banks and larger NBFCs can’t charge a prepayment fee. Small finance banks, regional rural banks, some co-operative banks and mid-sized NBFCs can’t charge one on such loans up to ₹50 lakh.

  • Never pay to get a loan

Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your business’s bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.

Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.

Questions

Business loans in Delhi: FAQs.

Does my business need to be in Delhi?

Lenders lend where they operate, so where your business is registered and runs decides which lenders can serve you. Share your business PIN code and our team will check.

Do I need GST registration?

Many lenders ask for it, but not all. Some accept other business proof, such as Udyam registration or a shop licence, especially for smaller amounts.

Do I need collateral?

Not always. Many lenders offer unsecured business loans. Larger amounts or longer tenures may need security, such as property or the equipment you buy.

My business sells across the NCR. Which lenders can serve me?

Lenders decide by the PIN code where your business is registered and operates, not where your customers are. Share your business PIN code and our team will check.

Much of my trade is in cash. Can I still borrow?

It is harder. Lenders judge your business from bank statements, GST returns and ITR, so routing sales through your bank account and filing returns on time makes a real difference.

Does Firstfund charge me anything?

No. Sharing your details with Firstfund is free. Lenders may charge a processing fee, which they must show in the Key Fact Statement.
