Local guide

Borrowing in Delhi.

Delhi’s borrowers work in government offices, services, retail and trade, and many commute to Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad or Faridabad. That matters for a loan: lenders look at where you live and where your employer is, and in the National Capital Region the two are often in different states.

Common reasons to borrow here include school and college fees, a home repair or upgrade, a family wedding and medical costs. If you rent, keep your rent agreement and a recent electricity bill from BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna or Tata Power-DDL, whichever supplies your area; NDMC supplies most of central New Delhi. If your Aadhaar shows another address, you can update it online through UIDAI before you apply.

Lenders decide PIN code by PIN code which areas they serve, so share yours to see who can lend to you.

Lenders differ by PIN code.

Each lender serves its own areas. When you apply, we show you only the lenders that cover your PIN code.

Who can apply

  • Indian resident
  • Age 21 to 60 years
  • Salaried or self-employed with regular income
  • Minimum monthly income of ₹15,000
  • A credit history that meets each lender’s policy

Documents lenders usually ask for

  • PAN card
  • Aadhaar (for KYC, with your consent)
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months (salaried) or 6 months (self-employed)
  • Salary slips (salaried) or ITR (self-employed)
  • Address proof, if different from Aadhaar

Good to know

Your rights as a borrower.

  • A Key Fact Statement before you sign

The lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. It stays valid for at least three working days, and a fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.

  • Prepaying a floating-rate loan

For floating-rate personal loans sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, lenders can’t charge a fee to prepay. Most personal loans have a fixed rate, so check the prepayment terms in the KFS.

  • Never pay to get a loan

Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your own bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.

Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.

Questions

Personal loans in Delhi: FAQs.

Do I need to visit a branch in Delhi?

Usually not. RBI rules let banks and NBFCs complete KYC by video call, and many collect documents online or at your doorstep. Some lenders may still ask you to visit a branch.

I’ve just moved to Delhi. Can I still apply?

Yes. Lenders may ask for proof of your current address, such as a rent agreement or utility bill, and may check how long you’ve lived and worked here.

Are interest rates different in Delhi?

Rates depend mainly on the lender and your profile: income, credit history and existing loans. Your city affects which lenders can serve you.

I live in Delhi but work in Gurugram or Noida. Can I apply?

Yes. Lenders use your home PIN code to decide whether they can serve you, and your employer and salary to judge your income. Living in one state and working in another is common across the NCR.

Do I need a Delhi address on my Aadhaar?

No, but you need proof of where you live now. A rent agreement, a recent utility bill or a bank statement with your Delhi address usually works.

Does Firstfund charge me anything?

No. Sharing your details with Firstfund is free. Lenders may charge a processing fee, which they must show in the Key Fact Statement.
