Local guide

Doing business in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru’s businesses include the manufacturing units of Peenya, Bommasandra and Jigani, wholesale trade in Chickpet, KR Market and SP Road, and a large base of startups, IT service firms, cafés and clinics.

Manufacturers here often borrow for machinery and for working capital tied to orders from larger companies; service firms borrow for hiring and technology. If you supply large companies on credit, invoice discounting or a TReDS platform can turn those invoices into cash. Lenders will look at your GST returns, bank statements and 2 years of ITR.

Many units sit just outside the city, along Hosur Road or in Bidadi and Doddaballapur, where lender coverage can differ from the centre. Share your business PIN code and our team will tell you which lenders can serve you.

Good to know

Your rights as a business borrower.

  • A Key Fact Statement before you sign

For MSME term loans, the lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. A fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.

  • No prepayment fee on many floating-rate loans

For floating-rate business loans to individuals and micro and small enterprises, sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, banks and larger NBFCs can’t charge a prepayment fee. Small finance banks, regional rural banks, some co-operative banks and mid-sized NBFCs can’t charge one on such loans up to ₹50 lakh.

  • Never pay to get a loan

Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your business’s bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.

Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.

Questions

Business loans in Bengaluru: FAQs.

Does my business need to be in Bengaluru?

Lenders lend where they operate, so where your business is registered and runs decides which lenders can serve you. Share your business PIN code and our team will check.

Do I need GST registration?

Many lenders ask for it, but not all. Some accept other business proof, such as Udyam registration or a shop licence, especially for smaller amounts.

Do I need collateral?

Not always. Many lenders offer unsecured business loans. Larger amounts or longer tenures may need security, such as property or the equipment you buy.

A large customer pays me after 90 days. What can help?

Invoice discounting or TReDS can pay you most of the invoice value now. Under the MSMED Act, buyers should pay micro and small suppliers within 45 days, and you can report delayed payments on the MSME Samadhaan portal.

My startup has no profit yet. Can I get a business loan?

It is harder. Most lenders look for at least 2 years of business and a taxable profit. Some lend smaller amounts to newer businesses, and early-stage startups usually raise equity before they borrow.

Does Firstfund charge me anything?

No. Sharing your details with Firstfund is free. Lenders may charge a processing fee, which they must show in the Key Fact Statement.
