Local guide

Doing business in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad’s businesses run from pharma and bulk-drug units around Jeedimetla, Patancheru and Bollaram, and engineering suppliers in Balanagar and Cherlapally, to the traditional markets of Begum Bazaar, Laad Bazaar and Abids and a growing base of IT services firms and cafés.

Pharma and engineering suppliers often wait for large buyers to pay, so working capital and invoice finance are common needs; traders borrow ahead of wedding and festive seasons. Keep your GST returns, Udyam certificate and 2 years of ITR ready. In Telangana, goods suppliers must register for GST once turnover passes ₹20 lakh, lower than the ₹40 lakh limit in most states.

Lenders set their coverage PIN code by PIN code, so a unit in Bollaram or Pashamylaram may have different options from a shop in Abids. Share your business PIN code to see who can lend to you.

Good to know

Your rights as a business borrower.

  • A Key Fact Statement before you sign

For MSME term loans, the lender must give you a Key Fact Statement with the APR, every fee and the repayment schedule before you sign. A fee that isn’t in it can’t be charged without your consent.

  • No prepayment fee on many floating-rate loans

For floating-rate business loans to individuals and micro and small enterprises, sanctioned or renewed from 1 January 2026, banks and larger NBFCs can’t charge a prepayment fee. Small finance banks, regional rural banks, some co-operative banks and mid-sized NBFCs can’t charge one on such loans up to ₹50 lakh.

  • Never pay to get a loan

Firstfund doesn’t charge you to apply. A real lender pays the loan into your business’s bank account, deducts any processing fee shown in the KFS, and never asks for money upfront.

Based on Reserve Bank of India directions on Key Facts Statements (2024), pre-payment charges (2025) and digital lending (2025). Your lender’s KFS and loan agreement have the final terms.

Questions

Business loans in Hyderabad: FAQs.

Does my business need to be in Hyderabad?

Lenders lend where they operate, so where your business is registered and runs decides which lenders can serve you. Share your business PIN code and our team will check.

Do I need GST registration?

Many lenders ask for it, but not all. Some accept other business proof, such as Udyam registration or a shop licence, especially for smaller amounts.

Do I need collateral?

Not always. Many lenders offer unsecured business loans. Larger amounts or longer tenures may need security, such as property or the equipment you buy.

Can the machine I buy be the security for the loan?

Often yes. With an equipment loan the machine usually secures the loan, so you may not need other collateral. Schemes such as CGTMSE also let lenders fund micro and small enterprises without collateral.

Does the GST limit affect my loan?

Not directly, but lenders use GST returns as proof of turnover. If you are registered, file on time; if you are below the limit, bank statements and ITR carry more weight.

Does Firstfund charge me anything?

No. Sharing your details with Firstfund is free. Lenders may charge a processing fee, which they must show in the Key Fact Statement.
